This process is a little complicated but will work for now until Facebook implements this into the application itself. Tagging people in Facebook statuses is something that’s been around for quite a while now but in numerous updates to Facebook for iPhone it has yet to make an appearance. Here’s how to do it until then.
First, you need to make sure you’re syncing contacts with Facebook. To do this open your Facebook app, go to the main screen, tap friends, sync, then switch “Syncing” to ON.

After this, all of your contacts will have a Facebook profile URL added to their contact cards. This is the most important part of the tagging process. Now that you have these user IDs, you can tag people in posts.
Copy the fbook profile URL of the desired person(s) you want to tag in the status update.

Now, open Facebook and use this naming convention to tag the desired people in a post. Don’t use the quotes
@[UID:2048:firstName lastName]
So, for example, if I wanted to tag myself I would do this:
OMGoodness! @[201408978:2048:Gerard Massey] taught me how to tag people in my status update from Facebook for iPhone!
It’s a little complicated but works for now! Retweet and send this post to your friends! Hope this enhances everyone’s Facebook for iPhone experience!
